FLANNEL DAY

We read a story about

an elf who drank eggnog in third grade.

Students wanted to know what eggnog

tasted like.

The annual pumpkin throw.  When we are finished with the jack-o-lanterns in VLC, the students get to throw them down the hill into the creek!!!!!!!!

 

 VLC 60th Birthday Bouquet:

My husband went on a business trip to Sweden and Turkey.  He brought some treats back for the students to try.  They love it when Mr. Dave brings them different things to try from other countries.

VLC is sixty years old—the exact age that I am. Are we old or what?? To celebrate, we had a dance party outside on the flat and we had popsicles.

Everyone had so much fun on the field trip. 

Scavenger Hunt at the Capital

The sixth-grade reading class was reading "The One And Only Bob".  In the book, Bob (a dog) eats Flying Saucers off of the floor.  We were curious about what exactly this was referring to.  We did research and ordered some from Amazon.  Turns out it is a type of candy.  A company that made communion wafers needed additional ways to make money.  They decided to put two wafers together and fill them with candy beads.  We wanted to share this information with Mrs. Siebert's fifth-grade class.  The students presented a report, and each student in the fifth-grade class got a Flying Saucer to try.  They then surveyed whether the students liked or disliked the candy.

 

We had lots of fun playing the bottle game.  Gracie chose a bottle that happened to have a paper in it that said, 
"Pie in the face" 

 

SHE WAS A GOOD SPORT!
